What is it about a good ole session of girl talk that makes you feel revitalized? After a long week of the daily grind, being a mom, being a wife, cooking, and cleaning, there is nothing like kicking it back with some girlfriends. Having a glass of wine, or 3 and forgetting all of the other things on your to do list. Even if you spend most of the time talking about your kids anyway, there is something about chatting with girlfriends that just reboots your system. This is true for me at least.

I think that women are just social by nature and for me, being able to connect with other women whether it be old friends I’ve known forever, new friends, or in between friends, it is just something that helps keep me sane. Most women often don’t take enough time out for themselves to just get out without feeling guilty about leaving a ton of things to do, or leaving the hubby to fend for himself for an evening.

So if you don’t get out with friends much, just do it. You’ll thank me later for giving you the push. Go get a cup of coffee with a friend. You will realize that you can have normal adult conversations that don’t end in a temper tantrum with a toddler on the floor, or trying to calm a screaming baby while trying to take a 45 second shower. You’ll get a glimpse of your pre-mother self and ask why you’ve been waiting to do this for so long.

So there is no profound post today. I just spent a lot of time with friends this weekend and I feel revitalized and fresh so I just wanted to share some insight on what keeps me (mostly) sane.
